Well, I started harvesting the Rutabagas. I stopped at a 5 gallon bucket full. I have enough to last for about two meals the way my family loves them. They are so sweet you dont need to do anything to them except add your seasoning meat and cook! It is really good with home made hot pepper sauce. Mmmmmmmmmmm!!

This was from our winter garden last year. We are waiting on this years now!

My Feta Cheese and Pasta Salad

This is one batch of my homemade Feta Cheeses.It's full of my garden herbs and topped off with olives imported from Greece. Yummy!!!!!

Now using my Feta with Veggie Noodles for a mouth watering burst of flavor! A new way to make pasta salad come to life!

Donna won the county Garden Project. Pictured are the top 5 winners in the county. Donna also won the cucumber in a jar contest. This was her senior year and is going to LCCC this fall. She will miss her local club and promises to come back and work with the kids at our local county fair. She has been very active in 4H and has done many projects over the years. She is active in Dairy Goats, Poultry, and Rabbits.

Its been a busy time of the year with kiddings and preparing the spring garden

Wow! Time has flown. Seems just like I was on here posting yesterday, but looking at the dates, ouch!
We have made it through another year of successful kidding with 63 kids on the ground this year. Now with weaning time approaching, which means more milk for me to play with! Tonight I am making my first cheddar cheese. We will see just how that turns out!

Our Spring garden is well on its way as well. We are already picking yellow squash and zukes. Our garden is organic.

Our cabbage is now starting to make cute little heads and the oninons are beginning to show some growth. The very cold snap we were having made them just sit still.

This winter has been a hard one for sure. With 8 days of below freezing temperatures, 3 nights at 11*F, we did all we could to protect our citrus trees. This is a picture of a Japaneese plum tree that we "HOPE" we were able to save by making it warmer wrapped in ice.

Wow! Look at the snow! No, its not here, but feels like it should be. This was about a week ago in Richmond, VA. We were visiting our daughter Patricia and son in law Chris before Christmas.

Richamond didnt expect this much snow and the town couldnt handle it, so they were literally closed!!!

Smoked Ham

I experimented this year for our Christmas Ham. I wanted to do it on the big grill, so I turned it into a smoker and it turned out wonderful. It came out so good, I turned around and made a smoked turkey. I used a small bit of oak wood, but mostly pecan.

We went to Williamsburg one of the days that we were there and because of all the heavy snows, everything was closed! Oh, well! We had fun anyway!!!
